• Gardeners on the Rocks

SUN CITY Lincoln Hills Garden Group - One of the oldest clubs at Lincoln Hills. Guided by a supportive and active Steering Committee, we offer monthly General Meetings with highly qualified speakers on all aspects of gardening. We sponsor Garden Shows (Bonsai, Flower and Rose), host a local Home Garden Tour, organize Plant Sales for Lincoln Civic Projects, and provide Field Trips, Socials, and Classes.

Our purpose is to: Acquire knowledge about gardening techniques, stimulate interest in landscape projects, expose the membership to horticulture, and enjoy camaraderie among members.

  • Lincoln Hills Garden Group will have a Brown Bag Sale at the May 23, 2019 General Meeting held at Kilaga Springs Lodge at 2 pm. Members Pam Martindale and Mary Lou Sliger have stepped up to be co-chairs for the Brown Bag Sales.

Pam and her husband, Douglas, moved from Vacaville to Lincoln Hills in 2017 and soon became active in our Garden Group. She is a retired nurse and in 2005 became a Master Gardener under the Solano County program. She and her husband have designed several gardens on their own properties based on water usage. She has a special interest in roses, trees and native plants. Other hobbies include card making and quilting.

Mary Lou and her husband, Ben, moved to Lincoln Hills in 2005 from Truckee where they ran a daycare and owned a video store. She is a long standing member of our group but didn’t start gardening until they added a covered patio/sunroom and greenhouse to their property. This prompted an interest in house plants and hydroponic gardening. She is a lover of the Brown Bag Sales and would come early to shop. Her hobbies include fused glass art and lapidary. For exercising she enjoys clogging and her group entertains at Senior Facilities.

Both ladies meet with the Bonsai group and have started the process with small trees.

We are so happy to have these two talented ladies as Co-Chairs. At the May meeting greet them with a thank you! They asked me to remind you to bring your contributions to Brown Bag and stop by their tables to see what treasures await you.

Thanks to all our members for your continued support of Gardeners on the Rocks. Remember: Wear your name tags.

    Best Wishes, Marian Reeder, President
